Production Capacity Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Gather, reconcile, structure, and analyze data across storage, compute, and network systems to facilitate capacity planning and operational decision-making.

• Assist in generating short- and mid-term cluster and data center capacity forecasts by maintaining datasets, validating assumptions, identifying trends, and enhancing model logic.

• Oversee hardware and site deployment readiness within production environments, including tracking deployments, managing open orders, and executing internal asset movements to ensure balanced capacity availability.

• Enhance and maintain reporting on resource utilization, growth outcomes and trajectories, as well as capacity constraints and risks, ensuring data is accurate, concise, and actionable.

• Track key capacity metrics and dashboards to proactively detect anomalies, constraints, risks, and visibility challenges.

• Assist with Compliance, Security, audit, and reporting initiatives related to capacity planning and infrastructure operations by defining requirements, organizing data, and monitoring execution.

• Aid in the automation of data collection, reporting, and analysis workflows to boost efficiency and minimize manual tasks.

• Collaborate with Capacity Engineering, SRE, and Systems Engineering to ensure capacity data accurately reflects actual system behavior and operational conditions.

• Clearly communicate findings and support coordination among teams to ensure alignment on capacity-related tasks and priorities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

• 2 to 4 years of experience in data analysis, infrastructure operations, capacity planning, infrastructure or production engineering, or a similar technical role.

• Proficient in working with structured data sets of moderate to large scale using contemporary database and data analysis tools, preferably SQL, Python, Snowflake, Metabase, Excel, Google Sheets, or similar languages and tools.

• Familiar with observability and monitoring systems, ideally Grafana, Metabase, Prometheus, OpenSearch, or equivalent platforms.

• Understanding of fundamental system resources such as CPU, memory, disk, and network, and their impact on performance, utilization, and scalability.

• Working knowledge of essential capacity planning concepts, including utilization tracking and saturation signals, headroom and buffer management, growth trend analysis, and basic forecasting methods.

• Exposure to infrastructure cost modeling and financial analysis, including CapEx planning inputs, cost-per-unit metrics, and trade-offs among stability, performance, and cost.

• Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on data accuracy, consistency, and validation.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
