Production Artist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Convert approved creative concepts and finalized artwork into precise, production-ready outputs for print, packaging, digital assets, and pre-press requirements.

• Ensure that all files comply with brand guidelines, technical specifications, and vendor prerequisites.

• Work closely with designers, project managers, external vendors, and contract personnel to maintain quality, consistency, and efficiency within the production process.

• Prepare files for print and packaging with meticulous attention to layout, color fidelity, typography accuracy, and proper mechanical configuration.

• Validate color separations, bleeds, crop marks, die lines, resolution, and other technical specifications before final approval.

• Ensure all files conform to printer standards and address any pre-press or mechanical issues as necessary.

• Adapt and expand existing creative across various packaging structures, print formats, and digital iterations while preserving brand integrity.

• Review all files for precision, consistency, and error-free execution prior to distribution to internal contributors or external vendors.

• Systematically organize, label, and archive production files for easy access, tracking, and long-term asset management.

• Liaise with print vendors, packaging suppliers, and contract personnel to verify specifications, troubleshoot technical issues, and facilitate seamless production workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Over 5 years of experience in a production or design position within an agency or in-house creative team, with substantial expertise in print and packaging production.

• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).

• Strong knowledge of pre-press processes, color management, and print production standards.

• Familiarity with packaging design requirements, die lines, and material specifications.

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.

• Capacity to work under stringent deadlines and manage multiple projects concurrently.
