This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.
• User Discovery & Advocacy: Oversee comprehensive research cycles, including participant recruitment, in-depth interviews, and usability tests to uncover the motivations behind user behavior.
• Continuous Feedback Loop: Handle daily interactions with clients to gather detailed feedback on new GenAI features, ensuring the product team addresses genuine pain points rather than merely implementing technology.
• Methodological Excellence: Identify and implement suitable research methodologies (e.g., diary studies, surveys, RITE testing) to generate high-quality insights for both routine updates and intricate new projects.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers and Engineers to transform research insights into innovative solutions and product specifications.
• Process Evolution: Detect inefficiencies in our feedback gathering processes and propose enhancements to our research operations to facilitate team scalability.
• Closed Loop Communication: Manage relationships with our most engaged superusers; proactively deliver "You Told Us, We Listened" updates to demonstrate how their input directly shapes the Pencil roadmap.
• Value Exchange Management: Create and implement strategies to provide value back to research participants, whether through early access to features, exclusive previews of the roadmap, or in-depth discussions on GenAI trends.
• 3 - 5+ years of experience in Product Research, UX Research, or a similar client-facing insight role, preferably in a SaaS or rapidly growing tech setting.
• AI Literacy: Extensive experience with Generative AI and a profound understanding of its effects on creative workflows.
• Independent Execution: Demonstrated capability to manage multiple medium-scale projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
• Communication: Outstanding storytelling abilities - you can distill complex data into compelling narratives for stakeholders across the organization.
• Strategic Judgment: Skilled at differentiating between isolated feature requests and broader product opportunities.
• Technical Familiarity: Proficient with modern research tools.
