Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.
• Analyze product briefs and break them down into deliverable increments. A planning failure is indicated by a 3-week ticket, and it's your responsibility to avoid this.
• Manage the backlog comprehensively: ensure acceptance criteria, edge cases, and definitions of done are established before any engineering work commences.
• Evaluate each increment in terms of its cost: balance engineering effort against anticipated value and the cost of delays. Prioritize shipping low-cost, high-value items first, while deferring expensive and speculative ones.
• Use a clear scoring system for prioritization, rather than relying on intuition. This allows anyone to question priorities, which you can justify with data.
• Maintain clear communication with all stakeholders: founders, sales, support, and the PM should always be informed about what is being shipped, what is next, and any changes, without the need for interruptions.
• Ensure the team is unblocked and take ownership of delivery metrics (such as cycle time, predictability, carryover, and QA flow) to identify issues early. This is about maintaining hygiene, not the core mission.
• Challenge the PM when a brief lacks feasibility. This tension is a sign of a functioning system.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Product Owner, making significant scope decisions within a team of 8 or more engineers.
• Focus on delivering value rather than merely closing tickets, and articulate instances where you delivered less to achieve greater overall results.
• Able to discuss cost of delay and the effort versus value relationship verbally, not just in terms of story points.
• Proficient in reading API contracts and discussing service boundaries independently; familiarity with Node.js and microservices is advantageous.
• Your specifications are well-regarded by engineers; we will request examples of real tickets you have authored.
• Proficiency in English at B1/B2+ level.
• AI-first mindset — if you are not currently utilizing AI to triple your productivity, you will lag behind our engineering team.
• Impact: Direct involvement in enhancing the speed and effectiveness of product decisions reaching users.
• Autonomy: Control over delivery processes and prioritization choices.
• Flexibility: Remote-first work environment with asynchronous communication practices.
• Compensation: Competitive salary that exceeds market standards.
• Team: A talented, fast-paced team dedicated to execution and achieving results.
• Time Off: Three weeks of paid vacation along with 5 paid sick days each year.
• Growth: Unlimited opportunities and resources for learning.
• AI-Heavy Environment: Access to advanced tools and automation throughout workflows.
• Ownership: Complete accountability for delivery results and team productivity.
