Remotery

Product Manager, Squad Lead

Posted Jul 27

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of your squad's quarterly objectives: plan, reconcile them against any unplanned tasks, and ensure successful delivery.

• Make informed build/kill decisions based on evidence, understanding the value a piece of work will generate and how it will be measured prior to execution.

• Focus on building rather than merely briefing: craft clear specifications, effectively prompt agents, and review and edit generated code and outputs instead of starting from scratch or simply delegating tasks.

• Accelerate the idea-to-test timeline to days by opting for the most cost-effective route to validate your tests.

• If you haven't engaged with an AI coding tool today, something is amiss.

• Conceptualize and deploy AI agents: determine their functionalities, outline non-negotiable actions, and establish where human oversight is necessary.

• Define the context, tools, and constraints that the agent operates within while managing the trade-offs related to model selection, prompting, retrieval, and user experience.

• Conduct evaluations — this is a critical aspect of our operations: establish criteria for success before development, then validate it through structured evaluations, including representative datasets, scoring rubrics, and success metrics that encompass quality, cost, and reliability.

• An agent that performs well in demonstrations but fails to deliver tangible outcomes will not be released.

• Expedite the termination of projects when evidence suggests it; our metrics focus on outcomes achieved and the effective termination of experiments.

• Assist individuals in making decisions amidst uncertainty: our products are designed to empower users to take action when future outcomes are uncertain.

• You will influence how we translate risks and forecasts into actionable insights that allow busy executives to make confident decisions.

• Engage closely with customers: conduct user and buyer research, participate in client and sales meetings, and consider genuine customer feedback as your most valuable resource.

• Guide contributors, focusing on leadership rather than process: direct your squad towards decision-making and delivery without handoffs, coordinate dependencies with other squads, and disseminate your squad's insights through our guilds.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of two years of experience managing a B2B or enterprise AI or SaaS product — responsible for a product area rather than just handling tickets — with shipped features that are actively used by real clients.

• You have experience building with AI on a daily basis: creating prototypes, performing analyses, and reviewing and editing working code instead of writing it from scratch.

• You can transition from an idea to a functional test without needing an engineer as an intermediary.

• You have substantial experience with LLMs, enabling you to reason about model selection, prompting, context and retrieval, and tool utilization, as well as understanding that an evaluation suite differentiates a competent agent from a fortunate demo.

• You can dissect ambiguous problems, identify core customer needs, and make informed decisions based on your understanding of trade-offs rather than adhering to a rigid framework.

• You have experience in terminating projects. You can reference experiments you executed, what insights they provided, and the roadmap items that were abandoned as a result.

• You are proficient with data: utilizing it to identify worthwhile problems and assess whether your solutions were effective — including designing structured evaluations, not just interpreting dashboards.

• Your communication skills are exceptional: you can convey complex trade-offs clearly to an engineer, a customer, and a leader within the same afternoon.

• The challenges are complex, the stakes are significant, and the path isn't always straightforward — you thrive in this environment rather than being hindered by it.
