This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Define, take ownership of, and approve the strategy, standards, decision framework, and roadmap for enterprise data architecture.
• Hold the authority for architectural approval over enterprise data designs.
• Lead the creation of enterprise conceptual, logical, and physical models across various domains, including clinical, patient, provider, encounter/visit, payer, financial, operational, and workforce.
• Establish architecture standards for Bronze and Silver layers, encompassing schema, naming conventions, change-data-capture, audit metadata, retention, and requirements for handling PHI.
• Take responsibility for data quality and validation concerning enterprise data products.
• Oversee Data Quality Analysts and MDM Data Stewards.
• Model conformed Silver-layer entities, addressing grain, keys, relationships, history, effective dating, canonical structures, and reconciliation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop Technical Data Analysts and enterprise data modelers.
• Integrate Technical Data Analysts into domain data-product teams from the discovery phase through validation and consumer acceptance.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Analytics and functional analytics teams to address analytical use cases and metric requirements.
• Convert analytical use cases into actionable Silver-layer designs, mappings, conformance rules, transformations, and acceptance criteria.
• Work alongside Data Engineers on source discovery, technical feasibility, physical implementations, performance, and operational aspects.
• Validate implemented Silver-layer products against approved designs and analytical use cases.
• Set standards for documentation, metadata, lineage, traceability, reconciliation, and known-use limitations.
• Approve modifications to enterprise data models and conduct formal architecture reviews for significant changes.
• Define the technical architecture for master and reference data.
• Establish interim decision-making and stewardship processes until formal Data Governance is in place.
• Partner with Data Platform Engineering on Snowflake, dbt, CI/CD, environments, observability, access control, and reusable frameworks.
• Measure and enhance model reuse, analytical fitness, design-cycle duration, implementation rework, architectural consistency, and consumer satisfaction.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Over 10 years of progressive experience in data architecture, enterprise data modeling, data warehousing, technical data analysis, or enterprise information management.
• More than 10 years of experience with healthcare data.
• At least 5 years of experience leading and managing teams in data architecture, data governance, or data management.
• Extensive expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, as well as canonical and conformed data structures, data grain, history, and cross-domain integration.
• Ability to translate analytical questions and consumption patterns into reusable enterprise data-model designs.
• In-depth experience with source-system discovery, data profiling, source-to-target mapping, transformation requirements, reconciliation, and implementation acceptance criteria.
• Experience collaborating with Data Engineering teams responsible for cloud data-warehouse pipelines.
• Strong working knowledge of cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, or Databricks.
• Familiarity with transformation frameworks like dbt.
• Experience in healthcare data domains including clinical, patient, provider, encounters/visits, payer, financial, or operational data.
• Working knowledge of data governance, metadata, lineage, data quality, and master/reference-data practices.
• Ability to lead through influence across Data Engineering, Enterprise Analytics, business functions, Platform Engineering, and executive stakeholders.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills suitable for both technical and analytical audiences.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Preferred: experience with Redshift-to-Snowflake migration or other platform modernization efforts.
• Preferred: experience organizing delivery around business domains or data products.
• Preferred: experience leading architecture or modeling chapters.
• Preferred: experience in regulated healthcare settings supporting HIPAA, HITRUST, or similar requirements.
• Preferred: knowledge in identity resolution, master/reference-data architecture, semantic layers, interoperability standards, or AI-ready data foundations.
• Preferred: hands-on modeling experience during initial function build-out.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, talk, hear, and walk; capacity to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
