This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Formulate and implement strategies for the solar inverter product line over a rolling period of 1-2 years, within the framework of the Mid-Range Plan (3-5 years), while overseeing the designated portfolio and the product development cycle from ideation to launch.
• Evaluate market conditions, identify primary potential clients and competitors, analyze the current and future differentiation of the Company's products, and propose competitive alternatives.
• Gather feedback on potential new and improved products and solutions from business unit (BU) team members and integrate relevant suggestions to enhance the Company’s brand presence in new markets, businesses, and industries.
• Track sales and margins for assigned products, report any significant shifts, and use this information as a contribution to strategic planning efforts.
• Seek and analyze opportunities to broaden the assigned product line into larger, integrated systems for clients, including potential collaboration and integration with partner products.
• Act as the primary channel and filter for new product concepts and the main source for assigned products to the development team.
• Create comprehensive product requirement documents for product and system development.
• Prepare and update documentation for sales presentations and sales application engineering, aligned with branding standards set by the Global Marketing team.
• Develop and maintain sales and marketing materials, experience lists, and/or installed base records.
• Offer technical consulting, coaching, and training to BU sales and sales application teams.
• Cultivate relationships with suppliers as necessary to support new business initiatives.
• Establish and maintain productive relationships with Company and parent company contacts to ensure timely resolution of issues and requests for support.
• Continuously enhance the quality and delivery cycle of power flow models utilized in system studies in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Actively and positively represent and promote the Company brand to both internal and external stakeholders and the general public.
• Report results to BU and Company management, including but not limited to research, analysis, evaluation, and recommendations, as required.
• Communicate product development plans and timelines promptly to relevant BU and Development teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or a related engineering field; or a related physical or applied science; or equivalent through education and/or work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of application engineering or design experience in inverters and photovoltaic systems.
• At least 3 years of experience in product management or technical sales.
• Proven experience in utility-scale power generation.
• Demonstrated ability to develop product roadmaps and long-term product strategies.
• Strong prioritization skills necessary for crafting a business case for new product or solution development, enhancements, or entry into new markets, businesses, or industries.
• Excellent visual graphics skills to ensure that publications are both appealing and informative.
• Exceptional writing skills.
• Outstanding presentation abilities.
• Proven success in cross-functional collaboration.
• Established successful working relationships with clients, suppliers, and other internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven record of positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
• Continuous improvement demonstrated in areas of responsibility.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Willingness to travel, domestically and internationally, up to 25%, sometimes at short notice.
• **Preferred Qualifications**
• Bachelor of science degree in electrical, mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
• MBA.
• Proven experience in a product management role.
• Demonstrated ability to develop financial business cases.
• Experience with transformers utilized for inverters, drives, and power conversion.
• Background in commercial and industrial “behind the meter” energy management.
• Familiarity with power flow models such as PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, and ASPEN.
• Documented success in delivering presentations at user conferences, trade shows, and similar events.
