This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee all facets of a designated product line and coordinate efforts across various departments.
• Cultivate customer understanding and creatively address customer challenges.
• Emphasize user experience (UX) and user engagement; prioritize product features and functionalities.
• Advocate for user requirements, address pain points, and establish strategies for product success.
• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders in the Electric Transmission division to formulate a strategic vision for assigned products and services.
• Act as the Product Owner and Process Analyst for a crucial solution supporting Large Load and Electric Transmission Generation initiatives.
• Grasp industry trends, product positioning, key advantages, and target user demographics.
• Partner with vendors, CAISO, and both internal and external stakeholders to shape product capabilities and roadmaps.
• Investigate emerging technologies and market trends.
• Propose initiatives that align with the company's strategy, vision, and values.
• Assess products and services against both business and technical requirements.
• Direct strategy formulation and team activities; mentor team members.
• Define product functionality from scope through implementation, including conceptualization, requirements gathering, design, and construction.
• Formulate actionable product strategies complete with plans, timelines, milestones, and roadmaps.
• Create and deliver product training to sales channels and key customers.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, technology leaders, and other teams to ensure product success.
• Undertake additional duties as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
• Over 8 years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 8 years of pertinent technical experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in supporting or managing designated products and/or services.
• Experience in a utility, energy, communication, high-tech, or aerospace company environment.
• Extensive technical expertise in assigned technology areas.
• Experience in product design, development, and testing.
• Familiarity with regulatory or compliance settings.
• Proven experience in product/process innovation to decrease cycle times.
• Capability to determine methods and procedures for new assignments and coordinate activities effectively.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and communication with external partners.
• Experience with product development best practices, requirements gathering, and market intelligence collection.
• Excellent judgment, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
• Capability to perform office-related tasks, navigate an office environment, use a computer, and communicate effectively.
• Preferred: Master’s degree or MBA in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• Preferred: Recognized expertise in the IT industry related to assigned products or services.
• Preferred: Experience leading product teams.
