This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.
• Oversee the management and enhancement of Viatu’s supplier portfolio, which includes accommodations, activities, car rentals, and airlines.
• Ensure that our product offerings remain competitive, consistent, and in alignment with Viatu’s standards as the organization expands.
• Sustain and grow essential supplier relationships, manage content accuracy across our platform, and conduct regular training sessions and familiarization trips for our teams.
• Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, customer experience, and technology teams to enhance how Viatu presents and operates its travel products, ensuring a smooth connection between our partners, systems, and the traveler experience.
• Lead the onboarding process for suppliers (hotels, activities, rentals, airlines) and negotiate contracts to secure advantageous terms.
• Develop robust supplier relationships for enduring collaboration.
• Expand our product portfolio in line with Viatu's strategy by sourcing new suppliers and strengthening existing partnerships at travel conferences.
• Create engaging trip offerings for our website and empower the sales team to promote our suppliers and drive sales.
• Provide the Viatu team with comprehensive supplier knowledge through targeted training (workshops, trips, eLearning) and collaborate with suppliers to expand the training academy.
• Actively manage and enhance the supplier and destination content across our various digital platforms, including the website, quoting tool, traveler guides, and training materials.
• Contribute to the development of cross-functional strategies involving marketing, product, customer experience, technology, and sales.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the travel industry, preferably in marketing, product management, or operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, tourism, or a related field.
• Authentic passion for travel, especially regarding African destinations, wildlife, and culture, along with a willingness to travel for supplier visits and team meetings.
• Strong critical thinking abilities, with the confidence to challenge processes and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Proficient in building strong, lasting relationships with partners and colleagues through empathy, clear communication, and a collaborative approach.
• Familiarity with CRMs or project management tools.
