Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Advocate for the team, partners, and user community to ensure alignment with the product’s overarching strategy and direction.

• Conduct user research to identify user needs and reveal essential insights.

• Develop the product’s long-term vision and strategy.

• Align the team with a unified product roadmap.

• Lead the creation of targeted promotional materials, including white papers, conference presentations, and user videos.

• Collaborate with the Director on the annual roadmap, budget, and funding proposals.

• Partner with the Director and Language Technology Leadership to cultivate and expand partnerships.

• Provide quarterly reports and requested metrics to Language Technology Leadership.

• Oversee performance reviews and goal discussions for the team.

• Design, develop, and deploy software applications, new features, and defect fixes.

• Create and develop unit tests and conduct code reviews.

• Refine and enhance each product iteration prior to release.

• Implement and oversee Agile software development practices.

• Participate in regular project status updates, planning, partnership, and strategic meetings.

• Report hardware and software requirements to the Director.

• Travel to meet the broader development team at least once a year.

• Travel biannually to attend the Language Technology Conference.

• Engage in professional conferences and meetings.

• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.

• Experience in leading development teams.

• Demonstrated leadership capabilities.

• Proven skills in team and personnel management.

• Solid skills in software development and algorithms.

• Passion for understanding and addressing complex user needs to establish product priorities.

• Appreciation for high-quality user interface design.

• Strong interpersonal communication abilities.

• Excellent organizational skills.

• Ability to swiftly analyze and learn a comprehensive existing codebase.

• Capacity to make prompt decisions.

• Proficiency in generating and evaluating multiple solutions to problems.

• Quick ability to grasp technical concepts.

• Capability to work both collaboratively and independently while effectively multitasking.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience is preferred.

• 3 to 5 years’ experience in team leadership is preferred.

• Ability to complete initial IT Software Department training and relevant IT Orientation.

• Full-time commitment of 40 hours per week.

• Availability to travel to meet the larger development team at least once a year.

• Availability to travel biannually to attend the Language Technology Conference.
