This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the entire lifecycle of a designated physical-product portfolio, encompassing key products and accessories.
• Guide new products and line extensions through the Product Development Process, from initial concept and discovery to launch and eventual sunsetting.
• Analyze reviews, customer experience tickets, surveys, in-home research, and social listening data to derive product insights.
• Contribute to the NPI roadmap planning by leveraging market trends, customer insights, and portfolio performance data.
• Draft and update product requirements documents (PRDs).
• Ensure that the products delivered align with the specified requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers, industrial designers, and suppliers to convert product vision into actionable specifications.
• Highlight trade-offs and provide recommendations regarding feasibility and product ideals.
• Act as the central decision authority for ongoing programs.
• Travel to suppliers and international manufacturing partners, primarily in Asia, approximately 3–4 times annually.
• Collaborate with product marketing on positioning, value propositions, claims, product briefs, packaging, and collateral materials.
• Oversee external contractors and freelancers involved in product development workstreams.
• Monitor sales, reviews, returns, customer feedback, and accessory attach rates.
• Identify opportunities for portfolio improvements, fixes, and enhancements.
• Work in conjunction with the PM counterpart and Product Development Program Manager partners on prioritization and process enhancements.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience managing the full lifecycle of a physical consumer product from concept through to production.
• Practical experience working with international and/or Asia-based manufacturing partners.
• Proven ability to maintain a strong consumer-product perspective at every stage of development.
• Exceptional communication skills across engineering, supply chain, industrial design, marketing, and executive stakeholders.
• Experience in managing external contractors or freelancers.
• Strong understanding of commercial aspects such as cost, margin, and positioning.
• Technical knowledge of hardware development, including materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering trade-offs.
• Capability to engage credibly with engineers and suppliers, challenge technical decisions, and contribute to brainstorming sessions.
• Formal engineering training is not a prerequisite.
• Ability to navigate uncertainty and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Skill in influencing without authority and driving clarity in situations.
