Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Your mission: enhance Planner, the live working plan that site teams on significant construction projects depend on daily, and assist in its expansion as Aphex develops.

• Oversee the complete process: from discovery through QA to launch.

• Compose clear specifications that designers and developers can effectively implement.

• Make daily tradeoff decisions regarding scope, timeline, and quality.

• Identify blockers early and resolve them before they impede the team's progress.

• Establish the definition of "done" and maintain the quality standard.

• Collaborate with CX, CS, AMs, and customers directly to gain insights into how teams are currently utilizing Planner, identifying what's effective and what needs improvement, while staying informed about feature requests, bugs, and user data.

• Specify user requirements for the initiative, focusing on the outcomes and gaps that need to be addressed.

• Transform insights into actionable features and clear specifications.

• Validate directions with real users and workflows before making commitments.

• Monitor adoption: assess whether what you've delivered is meeting expectations.

• Partner with designers to scope and refine features as development progresses, and facilitate the daily and regular processes that ensure smooth work between design and engineering.

• Collaborate with the team's staff engineers on technical approaches, proof of concepts, and feasibility assessments.

• Engage with CX, CS, Sales, and Marketing about upcoming and recently launched features—different teams require different information at various stages, and the organization needs clarity on what has been developed and how.

• Manage dependencies related to your work and assist the team in overcoming obstacles when issues arise.

• Introduce experimentation into the work process—discovery, specifications, testing, coordination, and documentation. There is ample opportunity to explore methods that enhance team efficiency and the quality of work!

• Collaborate with the QA lead and team engineers to ensure features function correctly—manually executing test cases when necessary, and partnering with QA to establish automated coverage for future developments.

• Address bugs alongside CX as they emerge, and incorporate what you learn into the team's development practices.

• Make decisions on whether to proceed with or hold back on what you oversee, balancing speed with accuracy.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of product management experience, preferably in B2B SaaS.

• You have successfully launched features from start to finish—discovery to rollout—and you recognize quality because you've collaborated with those who excel in it.

• You possess strong product instincts and are confident in expressing your perspective on what is effective, what isn't, and what constitutes quality.

• You enjoy delving deeply into the workings of a complex product and prefer not to skim the surface.

• You can draft clear specifications, make daily tradeoff decisions, and uphold quality standards independently.

• You have a solid understanding of standard product practices but maintain an adaptable mindset—curious about what to retain and what to modify.

• You are eager to experiment with our building processes (AI-led or otherwise) and have a knack for encouraging collaboration among your peers.

• Bonus points for experience in construction technology, industrial software, or productivity tools—particularly those related to Gantt charts, scheduling, or task-based planning.
