Product Manager – Agent Interoperability

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Identify and prioritize the developer scenarios that JetBrains should support through ACP within JetBrains IDEs.

• Analyze how scenarios are managed in CLIs and agents, and establish coherent IDE-native workflows.

• Work on examples such as plan mode, sub-agent workflows, or agent-to-agent communication, transforming them into well-defined scenario descriptions and product requirements.

• Gather requirements, constraints, and compatibility issues from JetBrains teams and external partners.

• Convert validated scenarios into protocol proposals, implementation prerequisites, and delivery strategies.

• Represent JetBrains in discussions regarding protocols with Zed and the ACP community, fostering alignment on protocol content.

• Balance immediate product demands with long-term design considerations, such as extensibility and backward compatibility.

• Establish and track appropriate telemetry and product metrics for ACP-related surfaces.

⛳️ Requirements

• 1-4 years of experience in product management or equivalent end-to-end ownership in a hybrid engineering/product role.

• Significant software engineering background with hands-on production coding experience in real systems.

• Familiarity with modern web and integration technologies, including OAuth, WebSockets, HTTP, JSON-RPC, and service-to-service communication.

• Comfortable engaging in discussions about APIs, protocols, payload schemas, event-driven architectures, and backward compatibility.

• Ability to credibly discuss technical details with engineers and agent developers.

• Capability to distill raw technical feedback into clear user scenarios, requirements, issue tickets, and documented decisions.

• Strong product judgment with an ability to differentiate between UX choices and standardized functionalities.

• Data-driven perspective for integrating telemetry, qualitative feedback, and ecosystem signals into decision-making.

• Proficient spoken and written English skills.
