• Assist in the creation and review of program documentation, training materials, and manuals.
• Collaborate with teams across legal, public policy, business, and operations to ensure the accuracy and relevance of accounting processes and systems.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend changes to enhance efficiency.
• Conduct comprehensive research to remain informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations.
• Review and approve content developed by others for accuracy and completeness.
• Address specific inquiries and provide guidance based on expert knowledge in accounting and software development.
• Lead and manage the integration of accounting software solutions to enhance process efficiency and data accuracy.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software implementation and integration.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure effective audit logging, system integrations, and system monitoring.
• Provide training and support to team members on new software applications and tools.
• Define the vision, goals, and success metrics for the products and services you manage.
• Work with designers, business analysts, and technical leads to explore and synthesize market research, user needs, business requirements, and technical approaches.
• Clarify the direction, scope, and priority of projects, ranging from high-level initiatives to specific features, user stories, and business metrics.
• Proactively engage, iterate, and foster buy-in for product initiatives with the team, government partners, and other contractors.
• Collaborate with the project management team to prioritize roadmaps and incoming units of work.
• Represent Nava's outcome-centric and user-centric approach in discovery meetings with agencies and contractors.
• Understand and convey the needs of end users and population segments we serve, as well as the government partners we collaborate with.
• Measure product progress towards business goals or user needs and convert data insights into actionable steps.
• Make tactical decisions to enhance design, define requirements, and gain stakeholder agreement on our desired direction.
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Product Manager leading cross-functional teams.
• At least 5 years of experience in accounting.
• Strong grasp of financial measurement tools and accounting principles.
• Familiarity with budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with state government regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience in managing and/or delivering consumer web applications.
• Ability to develop robust product plans and foster buy-in among the team, government partners, and other contractors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical, user experience, and project management considerations; enthusiastic communicator.
• Strong inclination towards action; capable of stepping into team gaps and navigating ambiguous situations to structure the team’s action plan.
• Ability to execute with incomplete information; possesses great product instincts and the capacity to create order from diverse needs.
• Ability to define a product objective and logically reverse engineer the pathway and communications to achieve it.
• Capability to identify market trends and shifts that will influence product direction and adjust plans accordingly.
