This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide legal guidance to product and engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle, focusing on areas like data usage, integrations, encryption, export controls, and open-source software utilization.

• Evaluate new features, architectures, and vendor integrations to assess intellectual property and product-related risks.

• Assist in reviewing AI features, including involvement in AI impact assessment procedures.

• Identify recurring risks and recommend scalable solutions, including the use of AI agents, automations, playbooks, and templates.

• Review and provide counsel on open-source software usage and licensing matters.

• Facilitate compliance processes related to open-source software and enhance internal tooling.

• Aid in drafting and revising policies related to open-source software and intellectual property.

• Support the patent program, which includes invention harvesting, review of disclosures, and collaboration with external counsel.

• Assist with trademark clearance, filings, and managing the trademark portfolio.

• Collaborate with the commercial legal team to assist in negotiating terms related to intellectual property, AI, and product matters.

• Provide support for intellectual property due diligence in the context of acquisitions and strategic partnerships.

• Contribute to the drafting and maintenance of policies related to intellectual property, AI, and product initiatives.

• Offer practical guidance and training to business teams.

• Participate in developing scalable legal processes, such as templates, workflows, and intake systems.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of legal experience.

• A blend of experience in a law firm (mandatory) and in-house experience at a technology firm (highly preferred).

• Juris Doctor degree and active membership in the bar of at least one U.S. state.

• Strong practical judgment with the ability to deliver clear and business-friendly legal advice.

• Capability to collaborate effectively across functions with product and engineering teams.

• Proficiency in managing multiple workstreams concurrently.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Familiarity with at least two of the following areas: patents and the patent prosecution process, open-source licensing.
