📋 Description

• Take charge of analytics for one of our primary Orion product segments, which includes Intelligent Investing, Orion’s wealth offering, and Mogo, Orion’s lending service.

• Assist the business in comprehending customer behavior, product performance, funnel health, engagement, retention, risk, and operational challenges.

• Examine customer journeys throughout acquisition, onboarding, application processes, activation, funding, product usage, engagement, repayment, retention, support challenges, and long-term customer behavior.

• Integrate customer data, product interactions, survey responses, engagement indicators, marketing insights, financial information, risk metrics, and operational data into a cohesive understanding of current activities.

• Create datasets, dashboards, and definitions that become integral to Orion's operations.

• Evaluate marketing and funnel effectiveness, including source quality, conversion rates, activation, retention, and downstream customer value.

• Identify points where customers disengage, where the product causes friction, where reports may be misleading, and where business performance is improving or declining.

• Aid teams in understanding the connection between customer behavior, product experience, business outcomes, and long-term results.

• Highlight insights, risks, and opportunities before they become evident.

• Define, standardize, and document KPIs to ensure teams make decisions based on consistent and trusted metrics.

• Transform complex business logic into scalable, reusable data structures that facilitate consistent reporting across teams.

• Leverage AI extensively to expedite analysis, automate repetitive tasks, enhance documentation, develop analytical workflows, and elevate the quality and speed of your outputs.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure that key customer events, product flows, and business processes are accurately instrumented and available for analysis.

• Develop and maintain SQL for supporting reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making.

• Design, develop, and sustain semantic data models in Snowflake or comparable platforms.

• Contribute to data modernization efforts, including the redesign of existing reporting pipelines and enhancement of analytical datasets.

• Work alongside Data Engineering and Architecture to guarantee that analytical datasets are reliable, scalable, governed, and well-documented.

• Implement best practices for testing, monitoring, documentation, and data quality.

• Identify absent, inconsistent, or unreliable data before it becomes ingrained in business reporting.

• Facilitate the integration of analytical assets into Orion’s broader data platform.

• Bring ownership, intensity, and a proactive mindset. Question unclear metrics, weak assumptions, inconsistent definitions, and reports that do not represent business reality.

• Act as a business partner rather than just a report creator. Share knowledge and enhance analytical capabilities within the team.

• Progress into more intricate product analytics, data modeling, platform work, and AI-driven analytics over time.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Product Analytics, Analytics Engineering, or a related area.

• Proficient SQL skills with a background in designing analytical data models.

• Strong instincts in product analytics, including funnel analysis, segmentation, cohort analysis, customer journey analysis, survey analysis, and behavioral analysis.

• Ability to link user-level behavior to business outcomes such as conversion, engagement, retention, revenue, repayment, operational efficiency, risk, customer lifetime value, or long-term product performance.

• Experience with Snowflake, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or other modern analytics platforms.

• Solid grasp of dimensional modeling, KPI design, and reporting best practices.

• Strong judgment. You can differentiate between signal and noise, challenge misleading metrics, and provide actionable business recommendations.

• Keen understanding of data reliability. You know when a metric is ready for use and when it is not.

• Comfort in working with imperfect or evolving data while creating clarity from ambiguity.

• Excellent communication skills. You can convey technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to collaborate directly with Product, Engineering, Finance, Risk, Marketing, Operations, and other business teams.

• Innovative application of AI in your analytical workflow. You utilize AI daily to enhance speed, reduce manual tasks, improve quality, and boost your output.

• A definitive perspective on which aspects of analytics should be automated rather than performed manually.
