This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.
• Recognize optimization possibilities by collaborating directly with enterprise clients and analyzing their workloads.
• Rapidly prototype features — create proof-of-concept models first, refine them later.
• Conduct customer pilots: design the experiments, collect feedback, and determine whether to iterate or discontinue.
• Transition validated prototypes to General Availability (GA): implement production-grade pipelines, APIs, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Promote the adoption of released features — manage onboarding, provide technical Q&A, and troubleshoot issues.
• Investigate and address real-world data anomalies, pipeline challenges, and BigQuery cost inquiries.
• Incorporate field insights into product strategy — you’ll possess more customer context than anyone else.
• Over 5 years of experience in software or data engineering — you have successfully delivered real features to actual users.
• Extensive expertise in BigQuery — including slots, reservations, pricing frameworks, INFORMATION_SCHEMA, and query optimization. This is a hard requirement; we will assess this skill.
• Proficient in SQL.
• Comfortable working with backend code (any programming language) — you are willing to dive in when necessary.
• Familiar with advanced coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, etc.) used in real production environments — not limited to demonstrations.
• Possess customer-facing instincts — you can engage in technical discussions with an enterprise team without needing support from an Account Executive.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity — you will often define the problem before arriving at a solution.
• Autonomy — work in a small team with no middle management; you are responsible for outcomes.
• Strongly preferred: background in GCP cost management, FinOps, or query execution planning.
• Experience in taking a feature from concept to GA, rather than merely maintaining existing features.
• Previous experience as a Solutions Architect, Technical Account Manager, or Forward Deployed Engineer in the data domain.
• Opportunity to maintain a healthy work-life balance with financial initiatives that support both physical and mental well-being and green commuting, including assistance for remote work, commuting, and eyeglasses (depending on location).
• Continuous training and development opportunities with annual allocated learning hours during work, including language learning (English and German).
• Social activities for everyone (team building events, company breakfasts, holiday parties, professional meetups, sports events, darts tournaments).
