Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Collaborate daily with the Platform Owner to grasp business challenges, stakeholder objectives, and product priorities regarding internal tools that assist go-to-market teams.

• Lead or assist in the discovery of requirements (through calls, asynchronous documents, team meetings) to capture needs, edge cases, success metrics, and constraints.

• Create and maintain high-quality product documentation, including functional requirements, technical specifications, data flows, acceptance criteria, and architecture notes, while adhering to established internal standards and patterns.

• Transform requirements into clear, actionable plans and precise instructions for AI-assisted implementation; coordinate modifications through iterative build-verify cycles.

• Uphold consistent, enterprise-grade design patterns, architecture principles, and quality gates during planning, implementation reviews, and validation.

• Engage in design and implementation reviews with an emphasis on correctness, maintainability, adherence to guidelines, and efficient utilization of AI workflows.

• Execute and troubleshoot automated quality checks (type checking, linting, tests); diagnose issues and propose targeted solutions.

• Ensure system knowledge remains current: update reference documentation, track changes across versions, and identify ambiguities for resolution.

• Facilitate alignment with engineering, product, and go-to-market stakeholders across different regions, balancing the demands of leaders with those of individual contributors.

• Contribute to enhancing our AI-augmented development processes (improving patterns, templates, and automation ideas).

• Communicate effectively across time zones (US / EMEA) utilizing asynchronous documentation, collaboration tools, and occasional synchronous sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in product engineering, technical product management, solution architecture, or junior full-stack/frontend development roles.

• Proven ability to gather requirements, write clear functional and technical specifications, and create acceptance criteria — with strong written English communication skills.

• Solid understanding of modern web technologies (React, TypeScript, Node.js, REST APIs, PostgreSQL) and fundamental software architecture concepts.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows (prompt engineering, utilizing LLMs for code/spec generation, iterative verification).

• Strong analytical mindset: capability to deconstruct complex problems, identify ambiguities, and pose clarifying questions.

• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills — fluent in English (both written and verbal); able to work asynchronously and synchronously across diverse cultures and time zones.

• Residing in Portugal with eligibility to work in the EU; available for hybrid work in Lisbon when necessary and flexible for US overlap hours (e.g., 2–4 PM Lisbon time).
