Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Belgium.

📋 Description

• Transform unclear product challenges into distinct user flows, product functionality, edge cases, and success metrics.

• Develop and sustain scalable, modular, and high-performance frontend code.

• Independently assess frontend implementations concerning UX, code quality, performance, accessibility, maintainability, and product accuracy.

• Clearly define API specifications and backend expectations.

• Collaborate with backend engineers on architecture, data models, permissions, error handling, observability, and performance optimization.

• Leverage AI tools to expedite prototyping, implementation, refactoring, testing, debugging, and technical exploration.

• Critically evaluate AI-generated outputs and maintain accountability for correctness, maintainability, and product excellence.

• Weigh speed, simplicity, performance, maintainability, and user experience effectively.

• Keep in mind the end user, business impact, SEO, accessibility, and overall product quality.

⛳️ Requirements

• You are eager to take complete ownership of outcomes: define the problem, outline product behavior, implement the frontend, coordinate backend activities (or even contribute to them depending on the service that needs attention), and deliver results.

• You possess strong frontend skills to independently review React code while also considering APIs, data models, permissions, backend constraints, and edge cases.

• You utilize AI to enhance productivity, ensuring you trace the logic, adapt the output to the existing codebase, and validate results before they proceed to review.
