This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Transform CAD designs into tangible products by collaborating directly with factory technicians to iterate, enhance, and finalize prototypes.
• Oversee the feasibility review process to ensure aesthetic designs are not only visually appealing but also structurally sound and logistically feasible for international shipping.
• Contribute creatively and provide immediate problem-solving to convert 3D models into market-ready products.
• Manage the complete sample approval process, guaranteeing that gold seal samples are approved and prepared for photography and production.
• Advocate for quality and safety standards, ensuring all products undergo mandatory safety and drop tests successfully.
• Serve as the technical lead on the factory floor, identifying construction risks and ensuring adherence to specific Swoon requirements.
• Collaborate with local QC teams to align expectations and review development samples against CAD specifications.
• Oversee the product data collection process, ensuring the Product Information Management (PIM) system is populated with accurate and verified information for every SKU.
• Ensure flawless data accuracy across all internal development trackers and shared supplier grids.
• Work closely with UK-based PD and Merchandising teams to ensure that PIM and BCP data align with tendering and production schedules.
• Act as the primary contact for the UK PD team, providing weekly updates on development progress, project risks, and design challenges.
• Build and nurture strong relationships with local factory leadership.
• Translate complex manufacturing feedback into concise, actionable briefs for the design team.
• Frequent travel to various suppliers in India, including Jaipur, Jodhpur, and Ratangarh, will be necessary.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in furniture development, with a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and construction techniques.
• Attention to detail and the capability to interpret and critique CAD designs, providing creative solutions to make them production-ready.
• Highly disciplined with data, recognizing the significance of the PIM system and taking responsibility for inputting and verifying product specifications.
• A natural communicator who can clearly articulate complex production issues to the UK team while fostering a cooperative relationship with suppliers.
• Ability to identify potential failures early, propose solutions, and keep the development timeline on track.
