Product Development and Sourcing Manager – Better-for-You Candy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation, formulation, and manufacturing of healthier candy options (such as gummies and chews).

• Collaborate with flavor houses, ingredient suppliers, and contract manufacturers to transition products from concept to market.

• Convert brand product briefs into commercially viable formulations that adhere to nutritional and sensory benchmarks.

• Conduct factory visits, pilot trials, and initial production runs to guarantee formulation success and scalability.

• Manage vendor relationships to ensure quality, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.

• Work closely with internal teams (packaging, marketing, compliance) to prepare each product for market introduction.

• Keep up-to-date with ingredient innovations, flavor systems, and emerging technologies in the confectionery sector.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in non-chocolate confectionery development, particularly with gummies, chews, or sugar-free candy.

• Demonstrated experience in formulating and manufacturing products within the better-for-you or functional food sector.

• Extensive technical knowledge of gelatin, pectin, starch systems, sugar alcohols, and alternative sweeteners.

• Practical experience in managing flavor development, sensory testing, and large-scale production.

• Knowledge of FDA and international food labeling and safety regulations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 20–30% of the time).

• Strong communication, organizational skills, and follow-through abilities in high-growth environments.
