• Take ownership of the complete product design process across Cargo's product lines, from conceptualizing initial ideas to detailed interaction design.
• Advance and enhance our existing design system in Figma and in code as we venture into new product domains.
• Create 0-1 product surfaces where no design precedents exist, ensuring they remain consistent with the overall Cargo experience.
• Rapidly iterate based on user feedback.
• Make decisive UX choices. We prefer you to have a strong opinion and be incorrect rather than play it safe.
• Integrate AI as an essential part of your workflow; it should be your daily tool for exploration, iteration, prototyping, and learning.
• Utilize AI to enhance your capabilities: move quicker, explore more options, and produce higher-quality work than traditional methods allow.
• Prototype using code, pairing concepts with working prototypes to evaluate them.
• Deliver frontend work in React — including components, layouts, refinement, and animations.
• Ensure the highest quality in the final product, focusing on what makes it truly exceptional.
• Contribute to pull requests, engage in code reviews, and work within the codebase on a daily basis.
• Pay attention to the finer details that others often overlook: empty states, loading patterns, error messages, and transitions.
• Conduct design QA on shipped products — identify discrepancies between intent and execution before they reach users.
• Strong foundation in product design: you can transform complex workflows into clear, user-friendly interfaces.
• Design discernment: You possess a keen eye for high-quality craftsmanship and can articulate the objective principles that contribute to intuitive and polished software.
• AI-native: You regularly utilize AI tools to expedite exploration, prototyping, and development, and you continuously experiment with new workflows.
• Comfort with ambiguity: You thrive in both extending established patterns and creating new ones from scratch when no precedents exist.
• Action-oriented: You focus on shipping and learning rather than prolonged discussions, recognizing that real-world feedback is the most valuable data.
• Proficient in React and CSS: You have the technical skills necessary to contribute to the production codebase and deliver high-fidelity frontend work.
• Fluent in Figma: You conceptualize in terms of components and systems rather than isolated screens, maintaining a scalable design language.
• Experience in evolving an existing design system: You understand how to contribute to a living system without disrupting its current integrity.
• Fluent in English: You have strong professional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex design decisions and technical trade-offs to a global team.
• Time zone & Collaboration alignment: You are located in Europe or Latin America and can maintain a consistent daily overlap (typically 4+ hours) with our North American-based team for synchronous collaboration and meetings.
• Attention to detail: You are meticulous and observant, catching "final-mile" details such as empty states, transitions, and error handling.
• Highly accountable: You take full ownership of your work, believing that individual accountability is crucial for team success.
• Eager to embrace scale-up culture: You are a proactive individual who excels in fast-paced environments and can swiftly adapt to changing product requirements.
• Commitment to continuous growth: You actively seek new technical and creative challenges and are dedicated to evolving your skillset as the industry evolves.
• Generous paid time off: Includes 12 company holidays and 2 seasonal company-wide breaks annually, unlimited PTO, and paid parental leave.
• $1,000 per year allocated for professional development.
• Opportunities to work remotely from various locations around the globe.
• Exclusive access to employee-only guest speakers.
• Bi-weekly team-building activities, affectionately called Fuzzy Friday.
• Opportunities for professional development and career advancement as the company grows.
