This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.
• Create mobile experiences that feel native for the Road App and other field-oriented tools on both iOS and Android platforms, demonstrating a strong understanding of each platform’s guidelines and knowing when to align or diverge.
• Transition problems from uncertainty to completed products: integrate research, outline processes, design interaction and visual elements, and document decisions with enough clarity for engineering to implement without ambiguity.
• Engage directly with customers and field users, such as drivers, dispatchers, and back-office personnel, to ensure your work is grounded in real job processes.
• Organize and conduct usability tests on your designs; validate workflows with actual users, collect feedback, and refine your work before and after launch.
• Remain accountable for outcomes post-launch: track feature performance, learn from actual usage and metrics, and foster continuous improvement over time instead of moving on at the point of handoff.
• Design for practical field conditions, considering factors such as one-handed use, sunlight visibility, gloves, intermittent connectivity, and repetitive high-frequency tasks.
• Collaborate within and enhance our design system, including semantic tokens and M3-based foundations for the Road App, ensuring mobile components are consistent and ready for white-label applications across haulers.
• Utilize prototyping to convey intent, and actively incorporate AI tools throughout the design process to accelerate the transition from insights to tested, build-ready solutions.
• A portfolio showcasing completed mobile projects for both iOS and Android that you can discuss in detail, including evidence of the value created: what was delivered, its performance, and the iterations made over time.
• Proficiency in both iOS and Android (Material Design) standards and mobile interaction patterns, with a focus on simplicity over embellishment.
• An in-depth understanding of complex flow aspects: configuration, edge, empty, error states, and validation, not merely the ideal scenarios.
• A systems-oriented mindset: comfortable working from tokens and components.
• Ability to communicate effectively with users and conduct your own usability testing. You actively seek genuine feedback instead of designing in isolation.
• A structured approach to processes and communication: you document the journey to your results, not just the final outputs.
• Proven expertise in AI-assisted design workflows, showcasing not just familiarity, but a strong command of these tools to enhance your work, guided by your own design judgment.
• Competitive contractor compensation.
• A significant product challenge with direct engagement from customers and real-world users.
• True ownership: your work will be deployed swiftly and utilized daily by individuals maintaining essential services.
• A dynamic, well-funded company where product design significantly influences the business and our customers.
