Product Designer – Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Develop information architectures and user flows.

• Create, explore, and validate UX and UI concepts.

• Design intricate B2B SaaS workflows, forms, tables, dashboards, and configuration interfaces.

• Prototype and swiftly validate various solution approaches.

• Support and review technical implementations.

• Enhance existing interfaces and interaction patterns.

• Collaborate closely with Frontend Development to create component-based UI designs.

• Integrate design tools with frontend components to facilitate the direct technical implementation of design decisions.

• Develop and maintain design tokens and reusable patterns.

• Design and implement components, variants, states, and interactions.

• Further develop and document the component library.

• Translate designs into production-ready components and interfaces.

• Build and advance AI-assisted, agentic product development processes.

• Link requirements, UX design, prototyping, components, and technical implementation.

• Develop and optimize end-to-end workflows from requirements and UX through prototyping and component mapping to Storybook, implementation, and design review.

• Utilize AI to support the entire product development process.

• Collaborate with Development on the creation and maintenance of components and variants.

• Define and further develop design patterns and interaction principles.

• Create and maintain design tokens for typography, colors, and spacing.

• Define states, behavioral rules, and guidelines for component usage.

• Connect design and frontend components.

• Ensure a shared and consistent foundation across the product, design system, and code.

• Work closely with Product and Development in an interdisciplinary team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in Product Design, UI/UX Design, or Design Engineering, preferably for complex B2B SaaS or enterprise products.

• Experience with intricate user flows, information architectures, interaction concepts, and data-intensive interfaces.

• Excellent understanding of component-based Product Design, Design Systems, Design Tokens, and Component Libraries.

• Experience at the intersection of design and development, ideally with Storybook, HTML/CSS, and basic React knowledge.

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development processes, Software Factories, agentic development harnesses, as well as structured workflows and agent instructions.

• Ability to translate complex requirements into intuitive user experiences and implement design requirements either technically or through agents.

• Independent, structured, and pragmatic approach to work.

• High quality standards and openness to rapid iteration and new design, development, and AI tools.

• Fluency in written and spoken German and English.

• A plus: experience with shadcn/ui, React/Next.js, Legal & Finance, multi-tenant applications, RBAC, i18n, and accessibility.
