This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.
β’ You will create the complete Hippo Plus experience β from the sales funnel that turns first-time visitors into policyholders, to the back-office tools the team utilizes for managing policies, payments, and customer support.
β’ You will collaborate with PMs and Engineers from the discovery phase onward β identifying problems, exploring solutions, and launching features that positively impact key product metrics (conversion, activation, retention).
β’ You will conduct user interviews, shadow sessions, and establish lightweight feedback loops with both customers and internal teams.
β’ You will sketch, wireframe, and prototype at the appropriate fidelity for the questions you're addressing (we regularly use Figma and LLMs).
β’ You will facilitate the challenging discussions that align product, design, and engineering teams.
β’ You will share your work transparently: including your process, nascent ideas, and errors. You will actively participate in design critiques, offering your opinions and leaving with improved work.
β’ Possess 3+ years of experience delivering production work, with a portfolio that showcases your process, data, and impact.
β’ Have a strong proficiency in Figma: including components, variables, auto-layout, and prototyping.
β’ Be comfortable designing across the entire product landscape: including consumer flows, transactional emails, back-office tools, and dashboards.
β’ Utilize LLMs as part of your design toolkit (Claude is used alongside Figma here β for research synthesis, drafting ideas, prototyping, and writing).
β’ Be capable of independently managing a project with support from a Staff Designer when needed.
β’ Exhibit initiative β identify a problematic meeting and propose a solution; clarify vague briefs; suggest improvements when you see a better way.
β’ Be fluent in English and available in the afternoons 2-3 days a week (with occasional evening calls for US time zones).
β’ Engage actively: keep your camera on during calls, participate in team events, and share the occasional humorous meme in Slack. We are remote but not solely reliant on Slack. Pets are welcome β we are proudly a pet-friendly team (proof).
β’ Have a well-defined design process that you can articulate β you can defend your ideas without becoming overly attached to them, and you welcome and provide feedback candidly (we conduct weekly design critiques).

β’ Experience in designing consumer-facing insurance or fintech products.
β’ Experience in creating AI-powered features: such as chatbots, agent assistance, AI-driven workflows, and LLM-in-the-loop interfaces.
