Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• You will create user-friendly and accessible internal tools utilized daily by Hippo teams – engaging in work that allows you to communicate with users via Slack and observe how your designs influence metrics within a sprint.

• You will collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers from the discovery phase onward – identifying challenges, exploring solutions, and delivering features that positively impact significant operational metrics (handle time, error rates, throughput).

• You will conduct user interviews, shadow sessions, and lightweight feedback loops with the actual users of the tools.

• You will sketch, wireframe, and prototype at the appropriate fidelity for the questions at hand (we utilize Figma and LLMs on a daily basis).

• You will guide the complex discussions that align product, design, and engineering teams.

• You will present your work transparently: including processes, incomplete ideas, and lessons learned. You will participate in design critiques with insights and depart with improved outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience delivering production work, accompanied by a portfolio that highlights your process, data, and impact.

• Proficient in Figma: including components, variables, auto-layout, and prototyping – all aspects.

• Comfortable working with data-rich, workflow-intensive interfaces: such as tables, filters, dashboards, multi-step flows, and power-user shortcuts.

• Utilize LLMs as an integral part of your design toolkit (Claude is part of our setup alongside Figma – for research synthesis, drafting, prototyping, and writing).

• Capable of independently handling a project with guidance from a Staff Designer when necessary.

• Proactive – identify a flawed meeting, propose a solution; clarify vague briefs, push back; recognize a better approach, and bring it to attention.

• Fluent in English and available during afternoons 2-3 days a week (with occasional evening calls to accommodate US time zones).

• Be present: keep your camera on during meetings, join team events when scheduled, and share the occasional light-hearted meme in Slack. We operate remotely but are not solely reliant on Slack. Pets are very welcome – we proudly embrace a pet-friendly environment (proof available).

• Possess a clear design process that you can articulate – able to defend your ideas without being overly attached, while also providing and accepting feedback candidly (we conduct weekly design critiques).

• Bonus points for experience with internal tools or operations-heavy products (such as admin panels, agent consoles, claims tools, CRMs, etc.) and for designing AI-driven features: including chatbots, agent assistance, AI-powered workflows, and LLM-in-the-loop interfaces.
