Product Design Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Drive design initiatives from inception to completion with independence and authority, encompassing discovery, ideation, workshops, definition, high-fidelity design, design systems, handoff, and visual quality assurance.

• Organize and lead design workshops, client evaluations, user research, and user testing sessions.

• Collaborate effectively with the Big Human design team to tackle intricate product and UI challenges; contribute to hands-on design work when necessary.

• Offer constructive feedback and guidance to ensure work adheres to high visual standards and incorporates best practices.

• Mentor and guide designers both individually and as a team, providing strategic design direction at a high level.

• Clearly articulate and defend design choices to clients and internal stakeholders.

• Navigate through uncertainty and adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.

• Oversee and provide creative direction across 1–2 additional concurrent projects beyond your own direct work, ensuring other designers maintain quality and consistency.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in product design, with a requirement for agency experience.

• A high-quality portfolio that demonstrates proficiency with complex products, showcasing strong visual design, UI/UX, prototyping, typography, and visual hierarchy.

• Expertise in user-centric and data-informed product design; strategic decision-making grounded in data, research, analytics, and business context.

• Experience in designing mobile applications, web products, and marketing websites.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey design decisions to clients and stakeholders.

• Advanced proficiency in Figma and a working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.

• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, and willing to seek clarification during uncertain times.
