This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Provide guidance to Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams on legal matters throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Evaluate and analyze new products, features, and initiatives, delivering timely, business-focused legal advice that balances risk management with innovation and execution speed.
• Advise teams on issues related to intellectual property, software licensing, privacy, AI, security, and regulatory factors impacting company products.
• Create scalable legal frameworks, policies, playbooks, and training resources that enable teams to make informed decisions.
• Collaborate with commercial, privacy, security, compliance, and corporate legal colleagues to resolve cross-functional legal challenges and foster alignment.
• Keep abreast of emerging legal, regulatory, and industry trends and translate these into actionable guidance.
• Carry out additional duties and tasks as required or assigned.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• 4-7 years of pertinent legal experience advising SaaS companies.
• Provide high-quality legal analysis, meticulous attention to detail, and execution across a wide range of product counseling issues.
• Exceptional communication skills (both oral and written) with the capability to clearly articulate and justify risk assessments and convey complex concepts effectively to technical, business, legal, and executive audiences.
• Function effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments while managing competing priorities and business goals to achieve results.
• Innovative mindset with the ability to identify solutions where others perceive obstacles.
• Experience advising software, SaaS, cloud infrastructure, and developer tools firms regarding open-source software licensing, compliance, and governance is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI tools (such as Claude or similar) to improve legal workflow efficiency.
