This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Provide legal advice to Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams regarding legal matters throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Evaluate and analyze new products, features, and initiatives, delivering timely, business-focused legal guidance that balances risk management with innovation and execution speed.
• Advise teams on intellectual property, software licensing, privacy, AI, security, and regulatory factors impacting company products.
• Create scalable legal guidance, policies, playbooks, and training resources that empower teams to make well-informed decisions.
• Collaborate with commercial, privacy, security, compliance, and corporate legal colleagues to address cross-functional legal challenges and promote alignment.
• Keep abreast of emerging legal, regulatory, and industry trends and translate them into actionable advice.
• Carry out other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
• J.D. and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• 4-7 years of pertinent legal experience advising SaaS companies.
• Provide high-quality legal analysis, with strong attention to detail and execution across a wide range of product counseling issues.
• Exceptional communication skills (both oral and written) with the capacity to clearly articulate and justify risk analysis and convey complex concepts effectively to technical, business, legal, and executive audiences.
• Function effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments while balancing competing priorities and business goals to achieve results.
• Innovative mindset with the ability to identify solutions where others may see obstacles.
• Experience advising software, SaaS, cloud infrastructure, and developer tools companies on open-source software licensing, compliance, and governance is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI tools (such as Claude or similar) to enhance legal workflow efficiency.
