This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
β’ Provide legal advice to Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams throughout the product development process.
β’ Evaluate and analyze new products, features, and initiatives, offering prompt, business-focused legal advice that balances risk management with innovation and execution speed.
β’ Guide teams on matters related to intellectual property, software licensing, privacy, AI, security, and regulatory issues impacting company products.
β’ Create scalable legal guidance, policies, playbooks, and training resources that enable teams to make informed decisions.
β’ Collaborate with commercial, privacy, security, compliance, and corporate legal colleagues to tackle cross-functional legal challenges and promote alignment.
β’ Keep abreast of emerging legal, regulatory, and industry trends and convert them into actionable guidance.
β’ Undertake additional related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
β’ J.D. and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
β’ 4-7 years of pertinent legal experience advising SaaS companies.
β’ Provide high-quality legal analysis, meticulous attention to detail, and effective execution across a diverse range of product counseling issues.
β’ Exceptional communication skills (both oral and written) with the capability to clearly articulate and defend risk analysis, as well as convey complex concepts effectively to technical, business, legal, and executive audiences.
β’ Function effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced settings while managing competing priorities and business goals to achieve results.
β’ Innovative mindset and a talent for identifying solutions where others perceive obstacles.
β’ Experience advising software, SaaS, cloud infrastructure, and developer tools companies on open-source software licensing, compliance, and governance is a plus.
β’ Familiarity with AI tools (such as Claude or similar) to improve legal workflow efficiency.
