This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Provide legal advisory to Product, Engineering, and various cross-functional stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Evaluate and analyze new products, features, and initiatives, delivering timely, business-focused legal advice that balances risk management with innovation and the speed of execution.
• Guide teams on matters related to intellectual property, software licensing, privacy, artificial intelligence, security, and regulatory issues impacting company products.
• Create scalable legal guidance, policies, playbooks, and training materials that enable teams to make well-informed decisions.
• Collaborate with colleagues in commercial, privacy, security, compliance, and corporate legal to address cross-functional legal challenges and foster alignment.
• Stay updated on emerging legal, regulatory, and industry trends and convert them into actionable guidance.
• Carry out other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• 4-7 years of pertinent legal experience providing counsel to SaaS companies.
• Deliver comprehensive legal analysis with a keen attention to detail and execution across a diverse range of product counseling issues.
• Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written) with the capacity to articulate and defend risk assessments and convey complex concepts clearly and effectively to technical, business, legal, and executive audiences.
• Function effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced settings while balancing competing priorities and business objectives to achieve results.
• Innovative mindset with the ability to identify solutions where others may see obstacles.
• Experience advising firms in software, SaaS, cloud infrastructure, and developer tools regarding open-source software licensing, compliance, and governance is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI tools (such as Claude or similar) to improve legal workflow efficiency.
