This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Correspondent and show teams to create, report, and present engaging, visually appealing stories that feature clear narratives and thorough journalism.

• Propose, produce, write, and fact-check stories for NBC News' linear and streaming platforms, encompassing daily news, longform articles, and cross-platform content.

• Perform original reporting, conduct in-depth research, and carry out source interviews.

• Obtain guest bookings in a competitive landscape; conduct pre-interviews and prepare discussion points.

• Possess the capability to travel on short notice to cover stories and be committed to staying on the road for the duration required by the story.

• Work in partnership with control rooms, senior producers, and editorial teams to create rundowns, write introductions, and produce both live and recorded segments.

• Manage field operations, including live shots, remote anchor setups, and breaking news coverage.

• Monitor and coordinate the correspondent's schedule while working closely with them.

• Collaborate closely with editors to guarantee high-quality video packages, graphics, and audio.

• Partner with Standards & Legal to ensure all content complies with editorial and corporate standards.

• Maintain effective communication between the Correspondent, senior leadership, and production teams.

• Provide ideas for a diverse array of content, including daily news, lifestyle features, celebrity interviews, and human-interest stories.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in network news, cable, or talk show production, including live and recorded segments.

• Strong skills in journalistic writing, research, and editorial judgment.

• Demonstrated understanding of U.S. politics, current events, pop culture, and lifestyle trends.

• Experience in shooting (DSLR or similar) and editing (Avid and/or Adobe Premiere).

• Proficient in navigating newsroom tools and technologies (Slack, NCX, Latakoo, etc.).

• Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments under strict deadlines.

• Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime on short notice.

• Must be able to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally.

• Capable of handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to work collaboratively across teams.
