Procurement Manager – FinOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Take charge of all IT indirect procurement, which includes SaaS tools, software licenses, data platforms, observability tools, and relationships with technology vendors.

• Spearhead global negotiations regarding IT expenditures and implement cost savings leveraging benchmarks.

• Maintain cloud cost transparency for GCP and AWS by managing billing data and dashboards.

• Conduct monthly cloud cost evaluations in collaboration with Engineering and Finance teams.

• Develop data-driven strategies for cost reduction utilizing unit economics based on product and workload.

• Prepare for and lead negotiations with cloud vendors, focusing on GCP committed-use discounts, enterprise agreements, AWS Savings Plans, renewal schedules, and pricing benchmarks.

• Collaborate with Engineering to identify cloud optimization opportunities, including rightsizing, storage tiering, egress, and query-cost reductions.

• Successfully drive renewals to completion and establish contracts and MSAs in conjunction with the Legal team.

• Monitor realized savings against targets and project IT and cloud expenditures alongside FP&A.

• Oversee procurement processes and execute strategies that enhance efficiency and ROI across the entire IT spectrum.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of experience in FinOps, cloud cost management, procurement, or data-intensive analytics, ideally in a scale-up, hyperscaler, or cloud consulting setting.

• Capable of independently opening a raw billing export and deriving meaningful insights.

• Strong understanding of cloud pricing structures, including committed-use discounts, savings plans, spot instances, storage classes, egress pricing, and BigQuery pricing models.

• Commercially savvy, with the ability to create fact-based negotiation cases and effectively manage vendor negotiations.

• Credible with technical stakeholders: able to defend analyses before senior engineers and translate findings for finance stakeholders.

• Results-driven, self-sufficient, and adept at problem-solving.

• Willing to adapt in a dynamic environment.

• Fluent in English; proficiency in French is an advantage.

• FinOps Certified Practitioner or GCP certification is a plus.

• Experience with gaming or adtech data stacks (streaming pipelines, ML workloads) is an added advantage.
