Pro Bono Clerkships

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform research on law firms, bar associations, CLEs, and issues related to animal law and opportunities.

• Investigate landlord, tenant, and various housing-related matters.

• Examine disputes concerning animal custody.

• Research classifications of dangerous dogs and breed-specific regulations.

• Study tort law cases and matters pertaining to negligence.

• Explore legal issues related to animals being regarded as property.

• Collaborate as a vital member of the Pro Bono Program team on initiatives that further program and organizational objectives.

• Engage in scheduled networking and outreach events with staff and fellow clerks.

• Review specific responsibilities during interviews.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a current 2L (or part-time program equivalent) or LLM student at an ABA accredited law school.

• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

• A genuine interest in animal protection is essential.

• Exceptional legal research and writing abilities, with the capability to adjust voice and style for diverse audiences.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.

• A positive attitude and the ability to collaborate effectively in a mission-driven, team-oriented environment are necessary.

• Willingness to undertake a variety of tasks within the realm of animal law.

• Excellent skills in organization, prioritization, and time management are required.

• Capability to work independently and remotely.

• Must exercise discretion regarding confidential and sensitive aspects of the work.

• Access to a computer with internet connectivity and Microsoft Suite is necessary.

• Familiarity with animal law is preferred.

• A personal address in the United States is required.

• Must be able to primarily work from the personal address located in the United States.
