Privacy Specialist – Lead

📋 Description

• Guide the creation, execution, and management of privacy programs across the enterprise for federal clients.

• Supervise the implementation of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), System of Records Notices (SORNs), and other compliance-related tasks.

• Formulate detailed privacy strategies that align with agency mission objectives and risk tolerance levels.

• Manage processes for responding to privacy incidents and breach notifications, ensuring a swift and effective response.

• Act as the primary liaison for privacy issues with both internal and external stakeholders, including agency leadership and regulatory agencies.

• Spearhead the design and delivery of privacy training and educational programs for staff and stakeholders.

• Oversee ongoing compliance efforts related to privacy, ensuring alignment with federal privacy mandates such as the Privacy Act of 1974, OMB A-130, NIST Privacy Framework, and other pertinent regulations.

• Direct the daily operations of the privacy team, providing mentorship, guidance, and oversight on performance.

• Lead privacy risk management efforts, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks.

• Manage privacy audits, assessments, and ongoing monitoring to ensure program effectiveness.

• Drive the development and implementation of privacy governance frameworks, which encompass policies, procedures, and standards.

• Create and sustain privacy metrics, dashboards, and reporting tools to convey program performance and risks to executive leadership.

• Oversee the selection, deployment, and management of privacy technologies, tools, and automation solutions.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Privacy, Information Security, Law, Public Policy, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

• Over 8 years of experience in privacy, data protection, or a related sector.

• At least 5 years of leadership experience in privacy program management or comparable roles.

• Current advanced privacy certifications, such as CIPM, CIPP/G, or their equivalents.

• Proven experience working with federal privacy programs and a solid understanding of government privacy compliance obligations.

• In-depth knowledge of U.S. federal privacy laws, regulations, and frameworks, including the Privacy Act, HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, OMB A-130, and NIST Privacy Framework.

• Demonstrated expertise in strategic privacy program development, execution, and governance.

• Strong skills in managing stakeholders and communicating effectively with executives.

• Proficient in risk assessment, management, and mitigation strategies.
