Privacy, Legal Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist the Chief Privacy Officer in the creation and implementation of the organization’s privacy program, along with compliance initiatives and risk assessments.

• Conduct research on international privacy legislation and emerging regulatory trends, and prepare succinct briefing memos and summaries for internal stakeholders.

• Support records retention practices by organizing retention schedules, mapping data types to retention requirements, and documenting disposition activities.

• Aid in the facilitation of privacy impact assessments and similar reviews, which includes information gathering, documentation, and tracking of mitigation measures.

• Help manage the intake, logging, and processing of data subject requests, including identity verification, status tracking, and drafting responses.

• Execute administrative and project coordination tasks to ensure program continuity and readiness for audits.

• Current enrollment in an accredited law school with a strong academic performance.

• Eagerness to learn about privacy and data protection, regulatory requirements, and associated methodologies.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of simplifying complex topics into clear, concise information.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical abilities.

• Proficient in office productivity tools and collaboration platforms; quick to adapt to new systems.

• Exceptional research, writing, and communication abilities.

• Comfortable with ambiguity and changing regulatory environments, enabling the resolution of operational challenges while adhering to compliance obligations.
