This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform architecture evaluations of the ad tech infrastructure and offer privacy guidance to our ad tech teams.

• Examine system designs and data flows to pinpoint and address potential privacy risks.

• Provide privacy assistance during security incident responses, manage the triage of privacy incident investigations, and support the USA Today Co. Privacy Office in related breach responses.

• Aid in the creation and upkeep of privacy content for the company's privacy intranet.

• Assist in evaluating third-party vendors for privacy compliance.

• Oversee website cookie scanning management.

• Stay updated on international and domestic privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other industry-relevant regulations.

• Help manage the OneTrust suite of privacy modules utilized by Gannett.

• Maintain records of data processing activities and data protection impact assessments to demonstrate adherence to applicable data protection laws.

• Support the response to data subject rights requests.

• Manage program metrics and reporting.

• Undertake ad-hoc activities as necessary.


⛳️ Requirements

• Strong knowledge of data protection laws and regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA).

• Solid understanding of data privacy principles, risk assessment, and mitigation strategies.

• IAPP certification(s) (CIPM, CIPP, CIPT), or ISO27001 certification(s), or ISACA Privacy Certification.

• OneTrust certification.

• Familiarity with Privacy by Design principles.

• Experience conducting meaningful reviews (PIAs, audits, process evaluations, gap assessments, etc.).

• Experience with Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) and infrastructure that facilitates data analysis in a privacy-conscious way, including sharing business insights with customers and advertisers.

• Knowledge of the ad tech ecosystem is preferred.

• Experience with technical privacy concepts (e.g., anonymization, encryption, differential privacy).

• Bachelor’s degree.

• 3-5 years of experience in privacy compliance.
