This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut.
• Engage with insurance providers to expedite medication approvals through prior authorizations.
• Assist patients in obtaining financial aid via foundations, manufacturer programs, and other funding avenues.
• Navigate pharmacy systems to input data, adjudicate claims, process refills, and develop follow-up action plans.
• Record patient issues, prior authorization progress, and financial assistance requirements in databases, electronic medical records, and email systems.
• Collaborate with physicians' offices to ensure the timely and appropriate administration of medication therapy.
• Maintain thorough and accurate records of patient interactions and case activities.
• Support patients with pharmacy insurance claims and coverage-related challenges.
• Work alongside pharmacists and pharmacy liaisons to provide coordinated patient care.
• Offer phone support to enhance medication adherence and compliance.
• Conduct research, investigation, and analysis to aid decision-making and resolve issues.
• Organize and manage data within database applications effectively.
• Identify trends, suggest process enhancements, and contribute to initiatives aimed at operational excellence.
• Act as a business partner to organizational stakeholders.
• Safeguard confidential information and adhere to privacy regulations.
• Stay updated through ongoing education, professional literature, and networking.
• Travel occasionally as necessary.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
• Excellent customer service and patient communication abilities.
• Preferred experience with insurance claims, medication access, prior authorizations, or pharmacy operations.
• High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
• Must be Connecticut State Registered and/or State Certified Pharmacy Technician, where applicable.
• National certification (CPhT or equivalent) is highly preferred but not essential.
• If the candidate's state does not provide pharmacy technician registration, national certification is necessary at the time of hire.
• Required credentials must be upheld for ongoing employment.
• Strong computer skills are essential, including proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to navigate the internet and utilize web-based platforms.
• Data entry and computer skills will be assessed through a pre-employment evaluation.
• Capacity to safeguard confidential information and adhere to privacy standards.
• Occasional travel may be necessary based on business requirements.
• Hourly wage ranging from $20.00 to $22.00 per hour.
