Prior Authorization Assistant, Oncology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assess and confirm insurance details and patient eligibility for prior authorizations.

• Liaise with healthcare providers to collect the necessary medical documentation and information.

• Process prior authorization requests to insurance companies in accordance with established guidelines.

• Track and oversee authorization requests to ensure prompt processing and resolution.

• Address inquiries from healthcare providers, patients, and insurance companies regarding the status of authorizations.

• Keep precise records of authorization requests, approvals, and denials.

• Work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve authorization challenges and enhance process efficiency.

• Stay informed on insurance policies, regulations, and industry developments related to prior authorizations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience in prior authorization and billing within Oncology.

• Proficiency with athenahealth and/or NextGen.

• Knowledge of major payors such as UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, etc.
