This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the design leader within cross-functional product teams, collaborating with product and engineering to oversee workflow comprehension, usability risks, and customer experience results.
• Lead and engage in customer discovery activities, including interviews, usability sessions, beta feedback synthesis, and research with SOC analysts, detection engineers, and security managers.
• Take charge of AI interaction design by determining how customers assess, trust, manage, and challenge AI-generated security tasks across various product interfaces — focusing on evidence visibility, communication of uncertainty, human overrides, and audit capabilities.
• Transform intricate SOC workflows into user experiences that are intuitive, efficient, and reliable in real operational environments.
• Create prototypes to validate ideas prior to engineering commitment. Proficiency in Claude Code and rapid prototyping is advantageous.
• Develop and enhance scalable design patterns and an evolving design system.
• Contribute to the product operating framework by helping to define effective discovery, design reviews, and release processes at Dropzone.
• Represent design in high-level product and roadmap conversations with executives, customers, and cross-functional collaborators.
• Over 10 years of experience in UX/product design, including a minimum of 3 years in senior or principal individual contributor roles.
• Extensive experience in designing complex, high-stakes enterprise workflows. Security operations experience is highly beneficial; if you're new to this field, you must demonstrate a quick development of genuine practitioner empathy.
• A portfolio showcasing results, highlighting design decisions that led to measurable changes in behavior, beyond just approved designs.
• Excellent discovery skills, including user research, synthesis, workshop facilitation, and problem framing in ambiguous situations.
• Strong viewpoints on AI UX, particularly regarding evidence presentation, human control, uncertainty communication, and distinguishing between trust-building automation and trust-eroding automation.
• Capability to work across the full spectrum of fidelity, from rough concept sketches for alignment to detailed flows that mitigate engineering risks, and polished work when necessary.
• Exceptional communication and storytelling abilities with the skill to influence both executives and technical teams.
• A preference for in-depth ownership over widespread coordination, excelling when deeply involved in a problem with a small, accountable team.
• Company-paid health insurance
• 401K Plan with employer match
• Self-Managed PTO
• Parental leave
• Significant above-market new hire equity grants
