This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Develop pricing and underwriting models and analyses to inform new deal pricing and review current pricing structures.
• Conduct thorough medical cost, usage, and trend analyses to aid in rate development and pricing suggestions.
• Assess the profitability of quotes, renewals, and overall book performance in relation to pricing assumptions.
• Monitor the performance of existing contracts.
• Assist in evaluating risk and pricing strategies for both new and existing products through various scenarios, including base, downside, and upside cases.
• Analyze and evaluate the quality of the data utilized for underwriting purposes.
• Identify and propose mechanisms and contract terms that mitigate both known and unknown risks and uncertainties.
• Collaborate with operations, medical economics/business analytics, product, sales, account management, and other relevant parties, including providing guidance during proposal, due diligence, and contracting phases to ensure strong underwriting and optimal outcomes while minimizing risk.
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of data within pricing and underwriting databases.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in underwriting or pricing within a health plan.
• Experience in healthcare, value-based care, or insurance sectors, as well as M&A and private equity, is advantageous.
• Background in private equity-backed organizations.
• Previous experience in creating and delivering presentations to boards and executives.
• High proficiency in financial and analytical modeling.
• Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) is a plus.
• Understanding of financial statements, healthcare data, and performance management metrics.
• Strong analytical mindset with intellectual curiosity and a passion for problem-solving.
