Principal Technical Level Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Utilizing the existing toolset to create gameplay scenarios and develop gameplay elements.

• Overseeing the overall integration of all related features utilized by the department.

• Detecting areas of weakness and gaps, suggesting, and leading enhancements to the toolset, workflows, and pipelines.

• Proactively addressing complex technical challenges.

• Collaborating directly with programmers, game designers, artists, and animators.

• Evaluating designs, game features, and production pipelines.

• Aiding in the prototyping and development of technical components for game features.

• Conducting tests on new features and tools prior to release to ensure compliance with requirements.

• Ensuring that Level Designers adhere to official metrics and standards.

• Reviewing team members' blueprints for optimization.

• Creating prefabs that are user-friendly, easily configurable, or adjustable for team members.

• Balancing creative vision with technical budget constraints.

• Assisting with debugging and troubleshooting, collaborating on cross-disciplinary investigations.

• Maintaining documentation for owned projects.

• Staying updated on industry best practices and solutions.

• Contributing to the company's knowledge repository.

⛳️ Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience or at least one released PC or console title.

• 5+ years of experience in a technical designer role.

• Technical expertise - familiarity with scripting languages, and a solid understanding of programming paradigms and concepts.

• Proficient knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 or 5.

• Experience in developing multiplayer/co-op titles, with an understanding of replication and network communication.

• Experience in performance profiling and optimization.

• Proficiency in debugging and strong problem-solving abilities.

• Capacity to concentrate and work independently without micro-management while adhering to timelines.

• Self-motivated.

• Exceptional communication skills.

• Strong mentoring capabilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
