• Develop and execute comprehensive validation test plans for HVAC and energy systems within laboratory settings.
• Create and establish test benches and simulation rigs to accurately mimic real-world operational conditions.
• Conduct functional, performance, and reliability testing on components and entire systems, including but not limited to air handlers, chillers, heat pumps, control units, and energy management platforms.
• Gather, analyze, and interpret test data with the aid of advanced instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
• Collaborate with design, product development, and quality assurance teams to address technical challenges and enhance system performance.
• Document testing procedures, results, and findings; produce detailed validation reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure all testing adheres to applicable industry standards (ASHRAE, ISO, UL, etc.) and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and propose enhancements in testing methodologies, equipment, and processes.
• Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting efforts for systems that do not pass validation.
• Keep abreast of developments in HVAC technologies, energy systems, and laboratory validation tools.
• Align the overall engineering programmatic deliverables and timelines across COE's and subsystems.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
• Over 10 years of experience in laboratory testing, validation, or product development for residential products.
• At least 2 years of proficiency with laboratory instrumentation, data acquisition, and automation software (e.g., LabVIEW, MATLAB, PLCs).
• Minimum of 2 years of project management experience within cross-functional engineering teams.
• Familiarity with energy modeling and simulation tools is preferred.
• Knowledge of relevant standards and regulatory codes (ASHRAE, ISO, UL, etc.).
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and HVAC system principles.
• Solid knowledge of power electronics and battery systems.
• Understanding of IoT integration.
• Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
