Principal Structural Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Oversee, provide technical guidance, and cultivate confidence through mentorship for a robust team of engineers.

• Act as the expert on reinforced concrete, bulkheads, gates, cofferdams, and heavy steel, ensuring that designs comply with ACI, AISC, and USACE standards.

• Direct structural designs in 2D/3D CAD (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, REVIT), offering comprehensive detailed and high-level reviews.

• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers for a smooth and integrated project execution.

• Engage during construction phases with submittal reviews, RFI responses, change order assessments, and site inspections.

• Identify potential issues early and guide teams in resolving them effectively.

• Introduce innovative perspectives and best practices into each project.

• Convey technical complexities in a clear manner to leadership, partners, and stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (Master’s or SE preferred). PE certification is required.

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in structural engineering, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.

• Extensive experience with concrete hydraulic structures, mass concrete designs, and/or hydropower infrastructure.

• Strong preference for familiarity with USACE standards and processes.

• Proficiency in CAD and structural analysis software.

• Leadership approach that combines technical excellence with approachability and mentorship.
