Principal Specialist, Supplier Quality & Development – Electronics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversees the quality performance of suppliers through prevention, monitoring, escalation processes, and the handling of supplier submissions for nonconforming materials.

• Manages and supports the onboarding, qualification, and certification of suppliers.

• Directs source inspection and material release processes.

• Executes escape management procedures, facilitates root cause analysis and problem-solving, and recommends corrective and preventive actions for systemic supplier processes and product materials.

• Aids in the RTX supplier programs to promote ongoing improvement and sustainability.

• Evaluates quality data to pinpoint systemic issues and formulates supplier-specific quality initiative strategies; addresses them using key proactive quality tools such as PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, SPC, etc., while also driving their implementation.

• Ensures suppliers can meet all contractual obligations, including Resourcing Gate, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance, and Work Transfer implementation.

• Adapts various interaction styles to effectively persuade stakeholders to embrace ideas and proposals.

• Employs flexible and adaptable working styles to foster and enhance effective cross-functional teamwork.

• Willing to travel up to 50% of the time.

⛳️ Requirements

• Generally requires a University Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 3 years of experience.

• Experience in Electronics is preferred.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external executives and employees.

• Over 6 years of professional experience in a supply chain operations environment (monitoring, auditing, developing suppliers/operations) or equivalent experience.

• Familiarity with system standards, authorities, regulations, standards, Quality Management Systems (QMS), auditing/assessing, and risk management.

• Lean Six Sigma certification is required.

• IPC standards certification is required.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field is necessary.

• Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
