Principal Software Tester

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with functional and development teams to identify, document, and execute test cases that align with business and technical requirements.

• Analyze requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to create comprehensive test coverage.

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated UI test scripts and frameworks using Playwright.

• Identify stable web elements and create robust automated tests for dynamic web interfaces.

• Design, develop, execute, and maintain API test scripts to ensure service functionality, integration, and data flows.

• Report, track, and verify defects effectively.

• Provide test documentation, metrics, and status reports to enhance stakeholder visibility and support decision-making.

• Implement test automation principles within CI/CD pipelines to ensure regression coverage and quality in releases.

• Define and promote test engineering practices, testing standards, and consistent quality processes across scrum teams.

• Share best practices in testing and contribute to ongoing improvements within the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 9+ years of experience; or a Master's degree with 5+ years of experience.

• Candidates must be U.S. Citizens.

• Candidates should have the ability to obtain a public trust clearance.

• Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test scripts/frameworks for functional, regression, and integration testing.

• Proven ability to provide clear test documentation, metrics, and quality reports to stakeholders.

• Practical experience with Selenium, Jira, Playwright, Azure DevOps (ADO), and Micro Focus Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) is preferred.

• Knowledge of Python, Java, or JavaScript is advantageous.

• Familiarity with GitLab for infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.

• Understanding of Agile and/or DevOps methodologies.

• Strong grasp of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC).

• Experience in testing APIs and Web Services.

• Ability to quickly comprehend business processes and translate them into technical requirements.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Highly detail-oriented and organized.

• Capable of working independently or as a collaborative team member.
