Principal Software Engineer, Healthcare AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sweden.

📋 Description

• Design and enhance AI-driven healthcare platforms and distributed systems.

• Construct and refine agent-based architectures along with orchestration systems.

• Develop secure healthcare data infrastructures and facilitate enterprise integrations.

• Engage with systems that utilize LLMs, AI agents, reinforcement learning, and contemporary AI technologies.

• Enhance system performance, reliability, scalability, and clinical precision.

• Collaborate closely with founders and a highly skilled engineering team.

• Assume responsibility for technical decisions from architectural design through to deployment.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in developing complex production-grade software systems.

• Strong expertise in backend engineering, preferably with Python.

• Experience in designing scalable distributed systems.

• Ability to translate vague business requirements into solid technical solutions.

• Proficient in software architecture and systems design.

• Experience working in startup, scale-up, or high-growth environments.

• Comfortable working autonomously with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

• Familiarity with AI, machine learning, LLMs, or agentic systems (preferred).

• Background in healthcare technology, health data, or clinical workflows (preferred).

• Experience with cloud infrastructure and large-scale systems (preferred).

• Proficiency in additional programming languages such as Go, Rust, TypeScript, or similar (preferred).

• Contributions to open-source projects, participation in hackathons, or personal projects showcasing technical excellence (preferred).

• Experience mentoring engineers and aiding in the development of technical strategies (preferred).
