Principal Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Enhance and advance TORC's engineering capabilities, focusing on talent development, engineering methodologies, operational models, delivery standards, and technical expertise.

• Foster an engineering culture that prioritizes quality, automation, reliability, security, reusability, observability, and measurable outcomes.

• Construct and nurture a high-performing engineering organization.

• Define engineering accountability and decision-making authority while cultivating future technical leaders.

• Develop reusable engineering patterns and capabilities designed for scalability.

• Offer senior engineering leadership for the Unified System of Controls.

• Guide the delivery of control measurement, evidence, reporting, exceptions, workflow, integration, accountability, and decision-grade insights.

• Facilitate automation and continuous telemetry within control processes.

• Ensure that USC engineering meets enterprise standards for scalability, sustainability, interoperability, security, reliability, and reusability.

• Collaborate with Digital Product leadership to convert product vision and priorities into engineering roadmaps and deliverables.

• Evaluate technical feasibility, complexity, dependencies, scalability, and implementation trade-offs.

• Build relationships with Platform Consulting, Digital Product, Architecture, Product Security, Security Operations, and other engineering divisions.

• Integrate Product, Platform, Architecture, ProdSec, SecOps, and engineering execution to deliver sustainable technology solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline is required.

• A minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in technology and engineering is preferred.

• Extensive experience in leading enterprise-scale software, platform, or engineering initiatives.

• Proven track record in building or significantly transforming engineering teams and practices.

• Experience in delivering secure, enterprise-scale applications or platforms.

• Demonstrated capability to lead complex initiatives across multiple organizations and technology domains.

• Experience in translating strategy, product direction, and business requirements into engineering execution.

• Proven success in collaborating with senior executives and influencing across organizational lines.

• Exceptional depth in engineering, focusing on secure, reliable, and scalable enterprise technology.

• Strong expertise in modern software engineering, APIs, data integration, automation, cloud technologies, telemetry, observability, reliability, and secure engineering practices.

• Background investigation is mandatory.

• Reliable internet connection with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload is required.
