This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Take charge of the long-term technical vision for Payments, Scheduling, and RCM application platforms.
• Ensure architectural consistency across various teams by identifying and addressing cross-system dependencies and technical debt at the platform level.
• Oversee technical due diligence for significant initiatives, including decisions on building versus buying, vendor assessments, and platform transitions.
• Recognize and address technical challenges that impact the entire company across different organizational boundaries.
• Gather information from various systems, teams, and projects to create comprehensive solutions, complete with thorough validation, rollback, and testing plans.
• Keep a pulse on the industry landscape, predicting trends in high-scale customer experience and transactional platforms, and ensure Weave remains at the forefront.
• Distill complex information to uncover genuine strategic value; champion and spearhead critical initiatives.
• Establish company-wide standards for engineering excellence, observability, and reliability in distributed systems.
• Actively mentor Staff and Senior Engineers within the fellowship, nurturing the next generation of technical leaders.
• 15+ years of experience in software engineering with a progressive scope of technical leadership.
• Proven track record of guiding cross-team technical initiatives that yielded measurable business results.
• Demonstrated capability to influence without formal authority, foster consensus across organizational lines, and translate technical trade-offs into business terminology.
• Extensive expertise in distributed systems architecture, including the development and operation of services that manage hundreds of millions of transactions and terabytes of data.
• Established experience with event streaming and messaging infrastructures (such as Kafka, Google Pub/Sub, or similar) at significant scales.
• Strong foundation in scalable data stores—both relational (PostgreSQL at scale, Vitess, Spanner) and NoSQL (Bigtable, Redis, etc.).
• Practical experience with cloud-native infrastructure on GCP or AWS, encompassing Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, and highly available system design.
• Solid backend engineering expertise (Go preferred; Python, Java, or C# acceptable).
