This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop platform products, tools, automation, and AI capabilities for engineering teams.
• Write production-level code daily as part of a small, experienced team.
• Provide software factories, security automation, and AI-enabled development environments for the Department of War and federal customers.
• Collaborate across multiple concurrent R&D and customer delivery projects.
• Optionally engage in proposal writing and customer demonstrations.
• Create agentic AI capabilities, such as tool orchestration, LLM applications, and workflow automation.
• Implement automation for continuous Authority to Operate, including evidence gathering, compliance reporting, and policy-as-code enforcement.
• Develop secure-by-default CI/CD pipeline products featuring hardening templates, security scanning, SBOM, signing, provenance, and attestation controls.
• Enhance the platform with developer onboarding automation, reusable deployment patterns, and AI development tools.
• Provide support for air-gapped environments.
• Deliver and maintain production on hardened Kubernetes in CUI/IL5 environments.
• Act as a technical subject matter expert in proposals, RFI responses, or customer interactions.
• A Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience, or 12+ years of hands-on experience in lieu of a degree.
• At least 5+ years of relevant experience in Software Engineering and DevOps/DevSecOps technologies.
• Minimum of 3+ years of practical experience with Kubernetes.
• Strong development skills in Python, Go, or a similar programming language.
• Regular use of AI-powered development tools, code assistants, or LLM-based tooling.
• Experience in CI/CD pipeline development; GitLab CI is strongly preferred, while Jenkins or GitHub Actions are also accepted.
• Integration of security scanning within automated pipelines, including SAST, DAST, SCA, and container scanning.
• Familiarity with containerization using Docker, Helm, and OCI artifacts.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or Ansible.
• Proficient in Git-based workflows, GitOps deployment patterns, and sound Linux fundamentals.
• Experience working in or deploying to classified or air-gapped environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities.
• No clearance is required to start, but the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance is necessary.
• US Citizenship is mandatory.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with agentic AI frameworks or LLM APIs, Platform One/Big Bang, Iron Bank, DoW security frameworks, software supply chain security, AI/ML infrastructure, CKAD certification, and technical SME customer engagements.
